Our first Gator was a 4 X 2, it was dependable but slow, had zero traction in any mud or snow, no problems to speak of. Second one was an HPX, 4 X 4 with a carbureted engine, great traction, but hard to start, would die when you put it into gear, Deere said there wasn't a fix for that, otherwise a good machine when you got it started. The Mrs. refused to drive it unless somebody would make it start better. I finally told the dealer thart if that was as good as it gets, I'm going shopping. Just then the XUV fuel injected came out 1000% improvement engine wise, starts just like your car, no choke, just turn the key it's running. We been happy with this one, Mrs. drives it almost daily. Only complaint is it steers a bit hard but the newest ones will have power steering the dealer said. I've never had a cab, so I don't know anything about the heaters etc. There is an issue of gasoline getting into the oil on some 620's, but so far so good here. The dealer said they have had one with a problem out of however many they sold. I have been Deere for a long time with farm equipment and all the lawn toys mainly because of a good dealer, but if mine does the gas in oil thing and Deere won't fix it I will find another color, there are other good dealers too.

Being you are from North Dakota I wondered how the Diesel Gator starts in the winter. I almost bought a diesel when we got the XUV, but was concerened about cold weather starting. I've pretty well decided the next Gator type machine we get will be a diesel unless they have cold start issues.
We used to come to ND quite often to visit friends who lived in La Moure County, great place, but just a bit more chilly than Iowa in the winter.
